Sony Ericsson—Three New Devices

By: Fast Lane Wireless

Sony Ericsson revealed three new handsets—Xperia X8, Cedar, and Yendo—and have plans to upgrade the X10, X10 Mini, and X10 Mini Pro in the coming months.

The Xperia X8 is a cheaper version of the X10, and the handset runs Google’s Android operating system.  The phone features a 3.0-in display screen, 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS, and WiFi.  The Cedar features a 2.2-in screen, a 2-megapixel camera on the back, and offers video recording capabilities.  The device has Bluetooth connectivity, USB support, and the Widget Manager 2.0 apps for easy access to social networking websites.  The Yendo is Sony Ericsson’s first touch screen phone with Walkman music capabilities, and features a 5-megapixel camera with a 2.6-in QVGA display.

Sony Ericsson is the world’s fourth-largest phone maker, but due to a lack of appealing smartphones, the company has been struggling in recent quarters.
